26 week update!

This is the last week of my second trimester. I can hardly believe it. I am so excited for my third trimester to finally be here, but all I can think about when I hear those words are being fat, uncomfortable, and tired all the time. I am really hoping I don't feel like that until maybe my last month. I want to enjoy my pregnancy for as long as possible. Time has just flown by and I feel like there is so much that I still need to do to prepare myself! I have books to read, classes to take, we're moving to a new apartment, we have to make a list of things we still need to buy for sprout.. and the list goes on! I have only just begun to prepare for sprout's nursery, but what I've done so far is quite adorable I think. My current project is small and tedious and has 6 pieces so it might take a little bit to finish, but I will post some pictures when they are all complete!

One thing I have been really stressing about is our living situation. I had ideally wanted to have our move-in date be February 1st. That didn't turn out to be too realistic, as we are still short on cash for a down-payment that soon, and we're not having the best of luck with even finding a place yet. As time goes by I can't help becoming more antsy and frustrated. I have been working 6 days a week, volunteering to stay longer on days that I am able to, and helping out with counting inventory (which often goes until midnight) just to save up a little extra cash. I feel like this is all I am able to do, and I am trying my hardest, but I am afraid it won't even matter if we can't find an apartment suitable for the three of us. On top of that, I am also having a hard time getting out of my current lease, and my landlord doesn't seem to want to help me out at all. I am trying not to get too worked up about it, but it's the biggest thing on my mind right now and it is so hard to ignore. I have been trying and will continue to try to use baby's nursery as a distraction and hope everything works out on time.

Also had an OB appointment yesterday. The appointment was really short, but I also had to take my glucose screening for gestational diabetes. I got cleared for that, but found out that I am still anemic and even worse so than in October because I have 150% the amount of blood in my body than I did back then. So now I have to take my iron supplements twice a day. I am just thankful I am able to do something about it and don't feel helpless. I love my baby girl and would do anything for her. ♥

26 week update.

Sprout is the length of a scallion this week!

How far along? 26 weeks, 1 day.
Total weight gain? 16 pounds, according to my OB appt earlier!
Belly size? 36 1/4 inches.
Stretch marks? None.
Baby's sex? Girl.
Size of baby? She is estimated to be 1 2/3 lbs and almost 14 inches long!
Movement? Absolutely! I am still waiting for those big kicks that hurt me or wake me up in the middle of the night. I know that sounds terrible, but so many people say it happens I just want to experience it firsthand, even if I will eventually hate it lol. I guess that is what my third trimester is for!
What is your baby doing? The network of nerves in her ears are continuing to develop. She has also begin inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid to prep her lungs for oxygen when she comes out!
What is your body doing? With all of baby's added weight, my back is easily strained. I know I am supposed to take it easy with long periods of standing or walking and activities that involved bending over.... but that is 99% of what I do during the day at work. I am so dreading this becoming problematic in the near future. :(
Belly button in or out? Flat. And soft, lol.
Happy or moody most of the time? Excited!
Symptoms? Does getting worn out after an 8 hour work day count as a pregnancy symptom? Or does this happen to everyone? Also, I get little belly cramps when I lay in certain positions.
Maternity clothes? Still not wearing them yet!
Sleep? Perfecto.
Food cravings? I seriously need to plan the next time I will make chocolate cake/cupcakes. This craving will NOT go away. Also, raspberry beret trail mix. I sampled a bag at work, and bought two of my own bags. All gone. :(
Anything make you feel queasy or sick? Nope.
Miss anything? I tried laying on my tummy this morning. Baby was so not having it. She threw a fit. I'm so sorry hunny!!
Looking forward to? My third trimester with sproutling, as it is so soon! And finding a new apartment.
Best moment this week? Finally putting up my Christmas post! Finishing the first piece (1of6) of one of my projects for sprout's nursery. Making up a song on the spot when I sensed baby getting nervous in the shower (yes I started singing to her while I washed my tummy, lol). Going to the movies Monday night with my sweetie.♥

  1. Don't stress about the living situation! No matter where you are (even when it's not ideal) the most important thing you can provide Sprout is love and care and you can do that no matter where you're living! Good luck!
