29 week update + to-do list + FOOD!

My bouncing little roo is now the size of a butternut squash!

How far along? 29 weeks.
Total weight gain? 19 lbs.
Belly size? It doesn't seem to have gotten any bigger from last week.
Stretch marks? Well. The thing is.... I have yet to figure out what these dark shapes and lines are that are under my boobs. They are getting too big so that I can't see them for myself but I noticed these lines for the first time in the mirror this afternoon before my shower. So devastating! I still have to show Ashton later. But anyway, they could be stretch marks?! :( As soon as I got out of the shower I ferociously slathered myself in my body butter because I felt guilty about skipping out on it recently.
Baby's sex? My sweet baby girl.
Size of baby? 2 3/4 lbs and over 15 inches long!
Movement? More movement at work and in the shower. Tons at night and first thing in the morning, as usual. Over the past 2 weeks she has discovered a new play place up behind my right rib. I can feel her get behind there and push out against my ribs which can be a little uncomfortable. Not painful yet but she is still growing...
What is your baby doing? Her head is getting bigger to accommodate all those neurons her brain keeps growing. She is going to be one smart cookie! Her bones are hardening and they now require 250mg of calcium every day.
What is your body doing? Gaining weight, lol (over a pound in the past week). I seem to be avoiding the third trimester symptoms as well as I did in the first trimester. No back pain or Restless Leg Syndrome yet. Now I can expect heartburn, constipation and hemorrhoids, especially if they were experienced in the first trimester. I am keeping a lookout, but since I didn't experience these previously I am less likely to now and my diet hasn't really changed to make these symptoms any more likely. Let's hope I escape them!
Belly button in or out? Still flat. Ashton thinks it's going to pop out at any second though.
Happy or moody most of the time? I'm turning into a brat the more I think about moving. I am REALLY trying not to stress here, but I'm like "WE HAVE EIGHT WEEKS UNTIL THIS BABY IS FULL TERM AND WE STILL HAVEN'T FOUND A PLACE." I'm hoping she will take her sweet time and not come out for at least another eleven weeks though.
Symptoms? So much pressure on my pelvis when I try to put socks and shoes on. That is the most discomfort I am in all day, I really hate it. I still have smelly sweat lol and can't seem to get rid of my acne right now. And I still get a stuffy nose almost every night.
Maternity clothes? Nothing new and haven't seemed to need anything yet.
Sleep? Nothing to complain about yet. Ashton and I woke up at the same time last night (maybe 3-4am) and he got up to go to the bathroom, or so I thought. He came back to bed and as we were cuddling I was about to drift back to sleep when I definitely smelled jalapenos! I asked him if he just ate something and he acted like a guilty child caught in the act. He ate the last of the jalapeno poppers that I made for the Superbowl gathering on Sunday night. Of course this morning I REALLY wanted one, but they were all gone. :(
Food cravings? I have had brownies twice this week! Not too many though. I still haven't had my brownie/ice cream combo that I have been wanting though.
Anything make you feel queasy or sick? Nah.
Miss anything? Really, really, really long and hot showers.
Looking forward to? The next time I see my mom. This morning I was thinking I haven't seen her in so long and can't wait until the 22nd when we go up to NH again. Then I was like, wait a minute. I just saw her 10 days ago! Hahah. I love my mom and miss her daily.
Best moment this week? I had another appointment with my midwife (our appointments have switched from every 4 weeks to every 2 weeks now!). Everything checked out great as always and she was super surprised that I am still wearing regular jeans and can button them up normally! She finally mentioned the Tdap vaccine, which I have to get back to her about at our appointment next week but I haven't gotten around to really researching that yet, oops!

My most recent to-do list:

  1. Signing up for a labor and delivery class and a breastfeeding class
  2. Finally having that conversation with my doctor about delivering at Brigham and Women's
  3. Calling my Maternity Support nurse for my 2nd appointment
  4. Finishing up Roo's block set since I've been putting it off for a bit now
  5. Continuing my failed attempts to get a hold of my landlord so I can get out of my stinking lease!

What I ate this week:

Black forbidden rice ramen in miso soup with roasted brussel sprouts and multi-grain wasa crackers.

Vegan stuffing, green beans with peanuts, red skin potato wedges, and lentils! It kind of felt like Thanksgiving again, hah.
Butternut squash with cranberries and pecans.
Whole wheat angel hair spaghetti, mushroom marinara sauce, roasted eggplant and roma tomatoes.

I completely missed taking pictures of our Indian inspired dish with multi-grain rice and grilled asparagus! But as you can see, my little squash actually got to have some butternut squash this week! :) I hope she loves veggies!!!
