20 week update! We're halfway there! :)

HALFWAY TO GIVING BIRTH! EEEK!

Holy crap! Can you believe that I am 20 weeks pregnant today? I can't! I don't even know where all that time went, and half the time I don't even feel pregnant. I probably wouldn't know any better if it weren't for my belly growing and sprout rolling all over the place! I have very much enjoyed being pregnant thus far and am hoping the feeling will continue for as long as possible before I give birth. Yesterday, I gladly signed up for the Maternity Support Program offered through my work. They offer a free welcome kit that includes vitamins, diapers & wipes, and two books- "Disease-Proof Your Child" and my choice from a list (I chose "Raising Baby Green"). I also get a $25 Whole Foods gift card at the start of the program and a $100 Whole Foods gift card for completing the program. Basically I have monthly telephone appointments with a maternity nurse as a supplement to my OB appointments and also have access to an on-call nurse 24/7. I feel quite lucky to have this program available to me and am looking forward to my first appointment tomorrow!

I'M NESTING!

So I've recently discovered the meaning of the term "nesting", mainly because all I want to do is clean up everything, get rid of old and unnecessary things, and replace old stuff with new stuff. I can't wait to go through my storage room and throw away crap I haven't used in ages! I have also been googling and even pinning lots of nursery ideas. I CANNOT WAIT to be able to decorate and organize baby's room. I also feel like there are a TON of things that I've been wanting or meaning to do and haven't gotten around to, but I'd really like to. Hehehehe, I'm a momma bird preparing her nest for the little chickadee to come!

++ 20 WEEK UPDATE ++

Sprout is the length of a banana this week!!

How far along? 20 weeks!!!
Total weight gain? 8 1/2 lbs
Belly size? 34 1/2 inches
Stretch marks? None
Baby's sex? Little girl :)
Size of baby? Roughly 7 inches from head to bum, or 10 inches from head to toe! (doctors begin measuring full length at this stage!)
Movement? There is absolutely no need for me to worry anymore, she is just kicking up a storm in there every chance she gets!!
What is your baby doing? Baby is covered in a white substance called vernix caseosa, which protects her skin from the amniotic fluid and also aids in the passage through the birth canal during labor. Baby is also producing meconium---a dark green or black sticky substance which constitutes baby's first messy diaper!
What is your body doing? The top of my uterus is now at the same level as my belly button. I'm expecting to gain 1/2 lb to 1 lb each week until the end of my pregnancy!
Belly button in or out? Still in.
Happy or moody most of the time? Totally happy! Who wouldn't be with this wiggly little worm in their tummy!?
Symptoms? Getting so happy that I cry easily, lol.
Maternity clothes? None.
Sleep? Uninterrupted!
Food cravings? Chocolate candy. Hot cocoa. Chocolate cupcakes. Chocolate poptarts. CocoLoco bars. Chocolate chip muffins. Chocolate chip cookie dough. ---- Surprisingly, the only things I've had recently from that list were the cupcakes I made after my genetic ultrasound 2 weeks ago, and the box of CocoLoco bars I bought yesterday. However, I do have a few cocoa dusted almonds kicking around... and hot cocoa would be nice on a night like tonight..... LOL.
Anything make you feel queasy or sick? No way.
Miss anything? I don't think there's anything to miss! I am completely content with baby and I co-existing. ♥
Looking forward to? Writing in sprout's journal tonight. I feel like it's been a little while! Also, not being upset when I forget to use my belly cream, haha. I don't want stretch marks!! Oh! And reading the books that Susie sent me! :)
Best moment this week? Finally signing up with the Maternity Support Program that my work offers was great, but the best time I've had in a while was playing trivia and bringing out surprise cupcakes at Thanksgiving dinner with my family!!

Keeping my little banana baby in mind this week, I decided to feed her a yummy and healthy banana breakfast!!
Actually blueberry pancakes, but topped with nutritional yeast, chia seeds, flax seeds, of course maple syrup, and obviously bananas! With a side of the rest of the banana. :)

    1. Thanks Hannah! I wasn't sure if anyone besides my family actually read my blog! I am really surprised with the benefits I receive through my work. I have health insurance through my work and my entire pregnancy (medically speaking) is pretty much covered 100%!
Anyway, thanks for reading my blog. I hope it isn't too boring. I feel pretty inadequate writing sometimes and it takes forever!
      xx
